FAQ's

Where do headshot sessions take place?

I use a gorgeous location near The Arts Centre Telford, Shropshire for my outdoor sessions. For indoor sessions I use a large studio within the arts centre which is a short walk from the outdoor location.

Telford train station is about a 10 minute taxi ride away.

There are regular trains from:
London Euston: 2hrs 20mins
Cardiff: 2hrs 50mins
Birmingham: 38mins

Drop me a message if you are a business looking for multiple headshots for your staff, I can come to you!

What should I wear for my session?

For a headshot session it's best to bring a variety of tops with different necklines and in colours that you feel suit you. Different colours will bring out your eye colour or compliment your skin tone in different ways. Natural, earthy colours tend to work well on anyone. Ideally your eyes should be the main focus of the picture so make sure anything you bring complements them. I would recommend you have a good 'try on' session before you come! I would always recommend keeping makeup simple but definitely wear an amount that you feel comfortable with! If you're an actor with an agent make sure you check in with them incase they have any specific looks they think you should aim for. Please wear a plain vest top as a base so that changing (especially outside) is quick and easy!

I'm a bit nervous to have my picture taken, How will I know what to do?

Firstly, don't worry! We're going to have a great time and my first concern is that you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. If I think you need some help or assistance with poses or facial expressions, I will gently suggest adjustments to make sure you get images you are happy with!

Will I be able to change my hair and makeup, or shave during my shoot?

Yes! Bear in mind that we'll be shooting outside to begin with and you therefore won't have the facility to change your hair drastically (curling/straightening etc). Once we are in the studio there will be a space for you to change and plenty of mirrors for you to check that you're happy with your look. Remember that sometimes it does pay to keep it simple!

Anything I can do to prepare for the shoot?

YES! Drink lots of water the day before and get a really good night's rest. Try not to drink any alcohol the night before as you'd be surprised what a difference it makes to you complexion and eyes on camera. Don't use any creams or face washes you wouldn't normally, you really don't want any reaction or redness occurring!

Can I order prints or extra retouched pictures from you?

Yes! Extra Retouched images are just £15 each.

To buy prints you'll be able to access a feature built into the gallery client area which you will get a link to when you receive your photos.

How do I pay?

Payment by cash on the day is fine or by bank transfer at least 3 days before. I will provide you with an invoice (and receipt if requested).

How long will it take to receive my final retouched images?

Please allow 7-10 working days :)
